Hey! I'm huxley :)
I like to build stuff.

here are some things I believe:
- the world is a malleable place
- like, a really, surprisingly, consistently malleable place
- there's nothing more fun than building stuff with friends
- brains, (n)vim, pomegranates, spectral graph theory, failure mode analysis, alg top, frogs, UX, and embedding spaces are cool!
- (then again, most things are cool, so maybe this isn't super high-signal..)
- optimism is a surprisingly awesome strategy
- actually, optimism is often a self fulfilling prophecy, which is crazy!
- steelmanning is a surprisingly awesome strategy
- for a small set of lucky people, work-life-balance is a flawed and dangerous concept
- I am very grateful to be in this set.
- my friends are mingbogglingly awesome
- and you should say hi to/work for/hire them :)
- you would probably love vim keybinds
- type 2 fun >>
- you, me, and our collective friends can tackle the world's biggest problems
- this media is very good.
- when someone says "that's impossible," they are wrong. (learned through experience)
- ^^ this rounds to being True
- what's possible has little correlation with what people think is possible
- reflection is a superpower
- intention is a superpower
- one can be "armed with intention"
- some of my fave chunks/heuristics:
- "do the thing": you can learn most about how to do x by just doing x
- "bias towards action!!"
- "the solution space is bigger": it's always bigger.
- "there's a solution": assuming there's a solution often lets you find one
- if I'm not confused, I'm probably not thinking hard enough
- the world is awesome. and we have the skillz to make it unrecognizably more awesome
- => it's time to get crackin :)
Friends
my friends are legends.
